Responsibility in the Heart of Australia
At the Alice Springs Convention Centre, corporate social responsibility means ensuring Central Australia is stronger because an event was held here. Every gathering uses resources, supports employment and brings people into our region. Our responsibility is to make that impact positive—protecting our environment, supporting our community, strengthening the local economy and ensuring every guest feels welcome.
Caring for Our Environment
The MacDonnell Ranges are more than our backdrop; they are a daily reminder of why responsible operations matter.
- In October 2025, ASPCC replaced 140 legacy lights with energy-efficient LED fittings, reducing the connected lighting load by approximately 66% and creating brighter, more consistent event spaces.
- During 2025–26, 48.151 tonnes of glass was recovered—26.5% more than the previous year. Eligible container refunds support the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
- Approximately five cubic metres of cardboard is recovered across the precinct each week.
- Voltage Power Optimisation units, Energy Eye room technology and two electric-vehicle charging ports support reduced energy consumption and lower-emission travel.
- Our staff-led Green Team meets throughout the year to monitor performance, benchmark activities and identify practical improvements.
- Environmental management is supported by IHG Green Engage and Quality Tourism Framework Sustainable Tourism accreditation.
For organisers and delegates, these initiatives mean their event is delivered within a precinct actively working to reduce its environmental footprint.
Standing Beside Our Community
ASPCC is not simply a venue for Central Australia—it is part of the infrastructure that allows the region to gather, celebrate and welcome visitors.
During 2025–26, Lasseters and ASPCC contributed $317,492 in community and major-event investment through cash sponsorship, accommodation, catering, vouchers, venue access and practical event assistance.
Events and organisations supported included:
- Finke Desert Race
- Red CentreNATS
- FABalice
- AFL Alice Springs
- Red Dirt Poetry Festival
- Alice Springs Cup Carnival
- NAIDOC celebrations
- Seniors Expo
- Empower Her Expo
- Rural and remote community events
- Local schools, charities and sporting organisations
Our support also reaches the quieter moments that matter. ASPCC prepares Christmas Day catering for St John Ambulance personnel serving Alice Springs. We provide prizes for community fundraisers, donate linen to the Alice Springs Animal Shelter and offer vouchers and assistance to grassroots organisations.
Our Ticket-In Ticket-Out donation program has raised more than $27,000 for local causes. Bread for Good, launched in August 2025, donates $1 from every Tali breadbasket sold to the Desert Sports Foundation, supporting sporting opportunities for young people in remote communities.

Strengthening the Local Economy
Business events create value beyond the venue. Delegates stay, dine, travel, shop and experience the region, supporting businesses and employment across Central Australia.
- We prioritise Alice Springs and Northern Territory suppliers and we encourage you to do the same. Find out how you can incorporate NT products and services for your event.
- Local businesses support our food supply, audiovisual production, technology, catering equipment, transport and operational delivery.
- We promote local attractions, cultural experiences and regional touring to encourage delegates to stay and explore what makes Alice Springs a true bucket list destination.
- Major-event partnerships help attract visitors while supporting accommodation, hospitality, retail and tourism operators.
- We incorporate Alice Springs events on our website to highlight the incredible event calendar in our region!
Every local supplier involved in an event helps strengthen the skills and capability required to bring future business to the region.
Making Everyone Feel Welcome

Acting Responsibly
Our work is underpinned by policies and training addressing modern slavery, ethical procurement, supplier conduct, workplace safety, privacy, equal opportunity, anti-discrimination, flexible work, cultural awareness, responsible service of alcohol, gambling harm minimisation and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing obligations.

Every Event Leaves Something Behind
At ASPCC, we want that legacy to be positive: less waste sent to landfill, more value retained locally, stronger community events, better access and visitors who leave with a lasting connection to Central Australia.
We are proud of the conferences and celebrations held within our walls, but we are equally proud of what happens beyond them—the local supplier receiving another order, the volunteer organisation given room to gather, the first responder served Christmas lunch and the delegate inspired to return.
That is what responsible tourism means to us: caring for the place, standing beside its people and ensuring every event contributes to the future of the region that made it possible.

Testimonials
Before- Potentially lacking on things to do to make a comprehensive incentive programme. After- Lots of options, everyone is so passionate about what they do that delegates can’t help but go away feeling refreshed and inspired

Before- I was completely unsure and had no understanding of what was on offer. I had never been to Alice Springs. After- Loved it. So many options, I am very impressed

Before – A little negative. I thought it might not be worth the distance to travel to, nor the expense. After – I was blown away. It became clear very quickly that Alice Springs has SO much to offer and is a unique destination for events.

The team at the Alice Springs Convention Centre are world class, and are some of the most impressive event staff I’ve had the privilege to work with, they really did make magic happen … and made it look effortless along the way. Feedback from our delegates has indicated that this has been the most successful conference event in our organisation’s 20 year history … I am already being asked, “when can we go back?”
