The Alice Springs Convention Centre (ASPCC) opened in 2002 and quickly established itself as an important catalyst for driving business tourism in Central Australia. A joint initiative of the Northern Territory Government and Lasseters Hotel Casino (LHC) but partially funded by the Northern Territory Government, the ASPCC is the only purpose-built Convention and Exhibition Centre in Alice Springs.

The ASPCC caters for every kind of event from small meetings and conferences to exhibitions, gala award dinners, weddings and other celebrations, annually sponsoring more than 52 charity events each year.

Nestled between the MacDonnell Ranges and Todd Riverbed, ASPCC is only 1.8 kilometres from the town’s CBD.  One of the attractions of Alice Springs is that it is almost equidistant from every capital city in Australia and the Convention Centre is a convenient 10-kilometre ride from the airport.

The ASPCC is a dedicated Convention Centre and while its contemporary architecture reflects the colours of the Red Centre and the rustic appeal of outback Australia, don’t be fooled this facility is equipped with state of the art technology, best practice environmental controls and excellent quality service delivery.

Corporate Social Responsibility

As business custodians of Australia’s vast heartland, Alice Springs Convention Centre (ASPCC) is committed to facilitating a richer delegate experience – One worthy of our truly unique destination.
Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR is the perfect way to connect delegates with destination.

ASPCC believes strongly in the value of CSR and the opportunity it affords the business events sector to create a lasting legacy.
In Alice Springs, CSR is a commitment to the economic, environmental and social sustainability of our community.  It may involve fundraising, a financial or ‘in-kind’ donation or even hands-on volunteering.

Environmental Sustainability

The Alice Springs Convention Centre acknowledges the global issue of climate change and the company’s social responsibility to produce and deliver services with a minimal impact on the environment. Our obligation and responsibility to the environment and the Alice Springs community is to adopt an ongoing sustainable approach in the day-to-day operations of the business by indentifying situations where methods, procedures or products are detrimental to the environment and mitigate these situations.

A Green Team has been created by members of staff who have the responsibility and skill to ensure ongoing environmental performance, identification of environmental risks, recording and monitoring of impacts and implementing environmental and social sustainability measures.

In the last twelve months investment has been made in energy conservation initiatives such as expanding the existing building management system, introducing energy saving units into Lasseters 66 new premium rooms and the decommissioning of several refrigerated coldrooms. The total energy projects for the year resulted in reducing CO2 emissions by 525 tonnes, which is equivalent to powering 42 homes or removing 131 cars from the streets. Other initiatives included the introduction of new water and irrigation measures delivering water savings of 31,000kl per annum and participating in the cash for containers scheme which saw 191,767 cans and bottles recycled in a six month period. In addition, due diligence is currently being finalised on installing new voltage optimization technology that will provide a minimum reduction of 10% on total power consumption across the property.
